Well here is how it goes...i was tasked with downloading some music for an exhibition that is coming up...sounds pretty normal right? But get this...recently i have had problems with my usb drive where some of the downloaded music just wont play...i download the song...place it on my desktop for ease of access...then i copy it onto the usb drive...once its there, i cant seem to open it...it just wont play...mind you that this happens only after copying the file onto the drive...i have searched many forums which turned up no help to aid me...i have tried formatting the drive...multiple times...tried changing the quality of the songs by lowering the kbps rate (in this case from 320kbps down to 190 to 220 kbps)...tried changing the name of the song...but all came up fruitless...so if there is anyone out there that can help me, please help me...i only have 2 days left...

P.S.Some songs from my phone also encountered the same problem when i tried to transfer the songs from the phone to the drive...Note that only some have the problem and the rest work just fine...it also says that the extension might be messed up or the file might be corrupted...hope this extra info helped you out

i get the feeling that the USB is lying about how much you can put on there

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

It can't ever hurt to format the drive after backing up what you need. But it also could be a counterfeit drive that spoofs what it's storage capabilities are.

But the files were copied and some of them could be opened, so what's the deal?

Honestly its tough to say without seeing it, but my best bet is both drive corruption, on top of being forged on its actual file size. Try copying them to another source and see if you can open it still?
