PSU Master didn't read the hole thread? /s

He just has the b350 mobo, and needs RAM and a good PSU. The PSU he was looking at was some garbage EVGA PSU.

Well, you at least want to buy enough to have a working system so you can RMA/return parts if they do not work.  Which is what you are getting at Im sure.

I partially agree with this. Though unless you are buying it over years the warranty will apply it'll just be harder to deal with.

I recently half finished my pc build. Enough so it's running, I built it over a month or two. I bought my psu an evga 850w g2 80+ gold psu only to find it was dead out of the box almost 2 months later when I got the rest of the parts. Amazon did a full exchange for me, that being said I could have just as easily done an rma myself and been just fine.

So basically saying, I have my eyes stared at a empty case that needs love.
I say this in the most basic way:

I need a 8GB good PC for THE BEST price possible because I know absolutely nothing about PCs, where to buy parts for the best price, how to save, and how to build one. I want to game on PC and edit so I need someone that knows how to save the most money.

Many are not so lucky.  90 days is generally the limit on exchanges.

Get 16gb, its within your budget.

With the integrated graphics, you will have AT LEAST 2gb less RAM than you install.

Look at my post on the first page.

I have given you the link to the cheapest good PSU I can find and the cheapest RAM that's DDR4-3000 and 8GB.

Use it. Build a PC with it.

CX450 = $20

16GB DDR4-3000 = $90.

You could, but since you have a R3 and are using the iGPU from what I know, I wouldn't recommend it.

Its because of the R3 that I would say get a minimum of 16gb.

iGPU eats a chunk of RAM for just being active.

Best iGPU performance comes at 4gb reserved, so you would only have 12gb left over for the system.

if all you need is a psu and ram atm here is a tier 2 psu that will run great : https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182263&ignorebbr=1

you can get the 500watt for $56 and save $10 if you really want, also you should be able to get a 16gb ram kit for 80-100.

Here are a couple options:

I would not go larger than 550w, you are getting outside of the sweet spot for pricing.  ~500w @ ~$40 will serve the system better.  It will support up to a GTX 1080 or RTX 2070 with an R5 CPU no problem, and both of those GPU's are overkill for this type of build.

Even a 450W that's decent can support a overclocked i7-8700K and Vega 64...

Ehhhh.  You are in "hit or miss" territory there.  Some expensive ones can occasionally hit OCP with an 8700k and 1080 Ti, which is lower power than 8700k and V64.

Not to mention V64 is only worth it with power table mods, which would make a 450w unit cry like a little girl.

Speccing your PSU at 100% gaming load is also a quick way to end up with problems in a year or two if you load it down much of the time.  PSUs do degrade over time.

Yeah. Corsair is pretty good with MIRs though, from my experience.

MIR's are hit or miss, i have gotten some, i have been denied on others, what i posted is within your overall budget, their are pennies to be pinched I.E. getting a CX instead of a higher tiered unit, basically it comes down to your budget and what you need to make fit where in your build, or if you are shifting funds from one place to another.

Just like in most things in life opinions on pc parts or brands are like a$$holes, everyone has one, some are just prettier or tighter then others!

Print out their form.

Send it to a address the give you online after filling out their form (name, a sticker from inside the box usually, a copy or picture of your receipt, etc)

Then you wait for USPS to take 1000 years to post it there.

Then they get it. They either send a cheque or a gift card back, which you can then cash/use.

If it's a cheque and you don't have a bank account you can usually countersign it and get someone else to cash it.

Just giving em options, i am running a cx600 and have 0 issues with it, even with continuous use, the only real benefit i see for the capstone is the modular design, and possibly the higher wattage for future uses, but its their money,

I will be the first one to say i like to pinch pennies in places...... and for $20-$35 even pre rebate that CX is a good bang for the buck.
