rtx 2070 help!

I'm thinking of upgrading my monitor and graphics card. The card I currently have in mind is the asus rog 2070 strix, as it looks awesome and fits my budget. However, I don't know whether it's good enough to run modern titles at qhd 144hz. I could bump up to the 2080 if necessary but I really don't want to at the moment.

Any thoughts?

The RTX 2070 makes no sense as a product, it's performance is on pair with the RTX 2060, in fact there are games where both cards will perform identically and the gap of performance will never be bigger than 5%ish while you're paying the double of a RTX 2060.

 

Either grab the 2060 to save up or go all in with the 2080, the 2070 is of terrible value.

I could run high-ultra (depending on game) with a 1070 Strix at 1440p. A 2070 can totally breeze through ultra at 1440p, easily.
