FX 8350 Black Screen

Have you tried booting outside of the chassis?

I did, and it did not work. I just got annoyed and put everything back in my case with my old cpu and it somehow worked. It seems my Motherboard does NOT like the FX 8350 after reading about some other people's experiences with it. So I'm sending the cpu back and just waiting for Zen 2 to be released.

I just got a Brand New FX 8350 because it was fairly cheap. So I swapped it out with my FX 6350, and everything was fine, after one reboot it just gave me a black screen. I've tried both sticks of ram in every slot by themselves, swapping out gpu, clearing cmos, reseating the cpu and all connectors, booting with no drives, and for some reason the problem was still present when I swapped the cpu with my original one. There are also no beeps from the speaker on the motherboard, and the fans and lights turn on.

Edit: My mobo also has the latest BIOS

Specs:

Motherboard: MSI 970 Gaming

RAM: Patriot Viper 3 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1866MHz

GPU: EVGA GTX 1060 3GB SC

PSU: Antec High Current Gamer 620W

Cooler: Cryorig H7

I said the problem was still present when I swapped the new CPU with the Original

Probably killed the MB.  Especially if it was a cheap MB.

FX-8000 series chips are known for frying low end boards.

I have a MSI 970 Gaming MB, it has killed 3 chips (I have a ton of old FX parts lying around, just replace the burnt out FX CPU with another trash FX CPU), so there is that too.

Sorry for that, I might have misread something.

PGA CPUs are not immune to needing to be re-seated.

I tried reseating both cpus multiples times and they did not work, and can not figure out why my original cpu just decided to work all of a sudden

Could be a cracked solder joint then, bleh.

Wouldnt surprise me, MSI stuff from that era was of questionable quality.
