Hey guys,

My friend asked me to come up with some components for his new rig, I'm no genius when it comes to hardware but I kind of know the in's and out's.

My friend does mostly CAD designing; video editing (and rendering) and the occasional game very now and then.) He wants to spend a MAX of $1600.00 (Excluding the monitors). I do live in South Africa so the prices of components here are mostly from $100-$200 more compared to what some one would pay in the US/UK. He will also be looking at getting two or maybe three 1920X1080p monitors.

Okay now for the components. Please can you give advice as to if there will be any bottlenecks; waste of money; overkill; underkill; whether the parts are compatible etc.

If you have seen this post before, I have changed most of the components so wanted to start fresh, to get more opinions.

- CPU: Intel i5-4670

- CPU Cooler: Corsair H75 (This maybe pointless due to a non-k CPU, but the area we live in is quite hot and its on special where I live).

- Motherboard: MSI B85-G43 Gaming(1150)

- Memory: CORSAIR CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10B

- SSD: SAMSUNG 840 EVO 250GB

- Video Card: MSI N760 TF 4GD5/OC
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127748

- Case: COOLER MASTER SCOUT 2
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119263

- Power Supply: CORSAIR RM650
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817139054

- Monitors (possibly 2 - 3 of this monitor): Samsung S27C350H
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824001801

Please help me guys to make sure this RIG is 100% perfect before I order all the parts for him.

Thanks Eddyyz

better video card

like a 780 reference edition

He will likely need more gpu power. Step up to a 770 or 780 if its still in a reasonable price for him.

A cheap aircooler can do the same thing as the h75 if you aren't OC'in

Okay, so you guys have no problems with the rest of the hardware? All good?

So the graphics card, what would you recommend?

Would some thing like the MSI GTX 770 Gaming (4GB) be fine for him? (Remember he is definitely getting two of the monitors above and maybe another one, so the GFX card must have the power to do this).

Thanks for your help guys!

I suggest this

Hey, I appreciate you doing that for me. Unfortunately because of the crappy Tax etc and import duties here in South Africa I would basically pay $400 - $500 more then what the price is on the pcpartpicker website.

The cpu is better for editing/rendering and the 760 is just fine as he is not a heavy gamer

Thanks for the info!

maybe this could work

Thanks again!

This rig pretty much ends up at the same price as the one I originally posted about.

I appreciate your help but, some products I can't actually source as well as some he won't need (Like the HDD).

Thanks for your help!

again your better off not getting the 770 gaming and just going with a 780 or 780ti. if you want the good cooling get a 780 direct cu2

i would fully reccomend this

I'd recommend getting a beefier cpu for the money instead. What the system is being used for isn't going to be nearly as gpu heavy as it is cpu heavy.
