Can I plug in my GPU this way ?

DieselWeasel

Hi, I got my gpu (r9 280x) today and I'm not sure if I can use a single cable 6-pin from PSU to 2x(6+2)-pin.

This is how the cable looks and gpu.

What power supply do you have?

It shouldn't be a problem but i wouldn't recommend it.

I've re-read your post. Don't do it.

You can run the card but use the correct connectors.

You're not getting what i'm saying. Use a 8Pin from the PSU, and one 6Pin from the PSU. No adapters.

no 8pin cables came with the PSU, only these two cables that are above which are labled PCI-E and one 8pin labeled for CPU

What I see in the picture is one 6 pin PCI connector with a 6+2 pin PCI connector. You can use that with your graphics card. Use the 6+2 for the 8 pin slot and the 6 for the 6 pin slot. (Your PSU comes with 4 (6+2) connections so you're well off.)

(6+2) to 8 pin slot

(6) to 6 pin slot

You should have the appropriate connectors with that PSU....if not better get onto Cooler Master cause they forgot to pack it.
