screw this! - forgotten hardware

Hi all, hopefully someone can help me out with this one.

So i have just started my journey into watercooling and i know it is a very opinionated field (aren't all PC builds?)

Anyways.... so the reason for this is that i bought a new to me GPU and it is coming with a full cover waterblock. i have listed the parts i have bought below:

Koolance VID-AR295X2 Waterblock - https://koolance.com/video-card-vga-amd-radeon-r9-295x2-water-block-vid-ar295x2

XSPC pump / res combo - http://www.xs-pc.com/water-pumps/x2o-420-single-bayrespump

XSPC compression fittings - http://www.xs-pc.com/soft-tubing-fittings/g14-to-38-id-12-od-compression-fitting-black-chrome

Some kind of generic 240 Radiator (not sure on brand but looks like this - https://www.kustompcs.co.uk/cooling/water-cooling/radiators-grills/radiators/alphacool-nexxxos-st30-full-copper-240mm-radiator/

XSPC black tubing - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/XSPC-3-8-ID-5-8-OD-High-Flex-2m-Retail-Coil-BLACK/192587191748

Corsair SP120 fans - https://www.corsair.com/us/en/LED-Color/Fan-Size/Package-Quantity/AIR-SERIES-LED-CONFIG/p/CO-9050007-WW

I think that covers off what i have... but the question is.... I HAVE NO SCREWS to mount the radiator to my case!?

Can anyone confirm the correct screws / where to buy them (i am in the UK btw) and how to mount the fans in a push config?

mmmmmm R9 295x2 ❤️

as for the screws, i have just used some random spare screws that came with my case to mount my rads, you can also use the screws for the fans to mount the rads too

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

ah ok, they just the normal most common screws? like you would use to attach power supply?

The radiator actually comes with screws, but from what I recall Alphacool uses M3 bolts. Overall that looks respectable, the pump res unit isn't super amazing but will get the job done, don't forget to get proper fluids for the loop.

Thanks for the feedback, i plan on replacing the pump/res combo down the line but was cheap on a popular auction site ($15)

I'm getting the Rad 2nd hand so doesnt come with any hardware. I did find these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/XSPC-Water-Cooling-Radiator-Fan-Screw-6-32-30-mm-16-Piece-Bag/201955250156

Which i think will do the job? at least for mounting the fans...

Those are 6-32 thread so they will not fit as they use M3 bolts, and the radiator comes with the bolts for mounting the fans so you shouldn't require any.  Just make sure you use the ones of the correct length. If it's used watercooling gear it needs to be taken apart and scrubbed clean, you don't want to introduce unwanted gunk or growth into the loop.

i will wait for the rad to arrive as im not certain what brand it is... just looks like that one. (have attached pic of actual rad)

no hardware is included as 2nd hand from social media.

Would it be a good idea to rinse with some isopropal?

Rinse with normal tap water until it comes out 100% clean, then a round or two of distilled to get minerals out

Ah alright, in that case since it's a used rad you will want to clean it, that looks to be a Alpahcool unit to me. Ideally using some soapy water at first to remove the bulk of the gunk that may remain inside. Afterwards you can use a diluted vinegar solution to let it soak for a few mins and rinse very thoroughly for cleaning. I usually recommend a half a dozen rinses or so to ensure it removes all the vingear or to use a baking soda solution to neutralize it and then to rinse away the baking soda.

You will want to do a final rinse with distilled water to remove any minerals, the main thing is taking the time to clean and properly prep your components espically if they are used since you don't know what they have been subjected to.

Sound good to me, i'm not rushing this as i want to make sure i do it right first time and not have too many issues, I have used AIO coolers before but this is a slightly different ballgame.

there are 3 different screws used for mounting radiators

m3 (usually used to screw mobo to the case and SSD's

6-32 (usually used for fixing side panels and PSU)

m4 (never seen ones used anywhere in PC building exept for yje rads)

just try if the thread on the rad mach starting with M3, if it is too small try 6-32 and if it is still too small it must be M4

most screws are avaliable in any hardware store in various length
