Upgrade from a 7700k to the upcoming RYZEN 3000 series

Is it worth it? I love the snappy IPC of my chip and amazing overclocking but I think it would be cool to have a high core cpu

You might want to wait for the 3000 series though and decide then. Your CPU isn't too bad.

I love this chip. It's my first hyperthreaded CPU.  Blistering fast most times runs 4.8 on air all day long. I have owned many chips. Both AMD and Intel.

Honestly, this question that you're asking is hollow because Ryzen 3000 isn't even out yet. How are we supposed to know? Plus, you didn't really list enough information to what games you're playing, resolution you're playing at, and other tasks you're doing (like editing).
