Overwatch or 2DS

So I wanted to ask if I should get a 2DS or Overwatch. Games are real overpriced where I live so Overwatch and a 1 Year PS Plus Membership wouldn't make a difference in amount of money spent. So 2DS with Mariokart 7 or Overwatch with a 1 Year PS Plus Membership?

Overwatch is a dead game. They released too many heroes so they are all sorta lack luster now.

Just keeping this here as a I'd say overwatch and PS+

Not that I'm a huge fan of overwatch, but with PS+ you'll get games to keep every month...and that's got to be worth something. You get some real gems sometimes, they had Yakuza Zero on there before Christmas...

Titanfall 2 is a great game and I'd include it in my top 5 shooters I've played. But I don't see how it's a cash grab when it's free? Sure you can pay for the founders edition but i haven't found a store page for micro transactions yet? That might just be the fact that I'm diving straight into games without looking at the menus lol

I'd get the 2DS for Mario Kart 7, Zelda A Link Between Worlds, Zelda Ocarina of Time, Shin Megami Tensei IV, Bravely Default, Dragon Quest VII and VIII, Fire Emblem Awakening, Xenoblade Chronicles, NES Remix, Super Mario 3D Land, etc. Plus you get great DS games like New Super Mario Bros, the three Castlevania games, The World Ends With You, etc supported also. The DS + 3DS libraries are extremely strong.

2ds by far. I love my 3ds XL, had the new 2ds existed then I wouldve gotten that.

 

Plus ds games work on it, so if you are broke and wanna play a game you can usually find ds games super cheap.

If you get the 2DS , just keep in mind that there will be no new games. The 3DS/2DS reached end of life. If you have access to used games, or buy new older games for the system and you are fine with the collection available, then you should enjoy the system.

 

I don't know where you live and what is the situation/state f used market, but maybe you can even get a used 3DS/2DS with many games for cheap. Just make sure that each games works and the system is great condition.

 

Speculators, Analysis and Rumors indicate that there won't be a "Switch Pro", but instead a "Switch mini" that is lower cost, at the very least announced sometime this year (possibly end), suggested that the joy cons can't be removed and part of the system, and maybe does not include the dock (it will be sold separately). But I don't think, personally, it would be that much cheaper... unless it has even less storage built-in and crappier screen.

I'd say probably neither. I wouldn't get Overwatch on PS4 purely because it's really not the sort of game I'd bother with on consoles. I'm not much of a "PC Master Race" kind of guy but for not particularly graphically demanding but very fast competitive shooters I'd draw the line. If you have a laptop or any PC that's not a complete potato and a mouse of some kind you'd be better off getting it on PC.

 

And with the 2DS and Mario Kart? As others have said the 3DS line is on its last legs and isn't a platform I'd buy into at this point. Sure you can get some amazing games at very low prices but that's also because it's a system on its last legs. Literally the only upcoming 3DS game I'm aware of is Kirby's Epic Yarn which comes out next month. There's new Pokemon, Animal Crossing and Fire Emblem coming out this year but they're all coming to Switch only. I got a 3DS in late 2011 and upgraded to a 3DS XL a couple of years after that. I was considering getting a 2DS because the hinge on my 3DS XL has seen better days but TBH? I haven't touched the thing for over a year.

 

If you're on a budget I'd go for the 2DS I guess but.... with the kind of visuals it's capable of (or not capable of) and the complete lack of any upcoming titles? It's hard for me to say it's a "good value" in 2019. Honestly if I was you I'd buy something else on your PS4, anything else really. I mean there are no new games but 3DS still has an incredible library. I know I'll never be able to go through the entire list of great JRPG on the system even though I'm still playing it pretty regularly (playing Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey Redux atm). The used New 3DS XL I picked up from a pawn shop a couple of years ago for $100 has to be some of the best money I have ever spent on gaming. It frustrates me not seeing the Bravely Default series on Switch after how much I have enjoyed it on 3DS. God I want to see a Bravely Third on the Switch.
