buy the 2080 if you have the money for it. You will get more fps out of it so for your 144hz  monitor it's a better choice incase a new game comes out and the 2070 maybe struggles a tad or barely able to keep those fps high enough for you.

they  are  telling me it will be overkill. You’ll be bottlenecked by your CPU.

but you yourself said you will get  zen 2 when it comes out. at least then you don't have to go and buy yet another gpu again. also even if the cpu bottlenecks it a tad it will still juice out more performance than the 2070 and in non cpu limited games the fps gain will be greater

some games do not really care about the CPU and only need raw Graphics card power. in those games they won't even care that you only have a 4770. They will take advantage of the 2080 and give more fps. Then later when you get the zen 2 your games that performed almost the same as with the 2070 because of your cpu will also start performing better because the cpu is able to keep up.

Going with the 2080 will never be bottlenecked to the point where it is weaker than a 2070 in the same kind of setup that is.

stop being annoying.

you say you want a 2080, then say that you dont know if you want a 2070. Stop going full circle.

You have the monitor youve linked. Its high refresh. You can get a 2080 and saturate the framerate, which will get even better when youve switched to zen 2. or you can get a 2070 and get very playable rates and save some money.

Stop going on and on.

There is no "future proof", and at 1080p 6GB is plenty. Whoever told you that most games use 8GB flat out lied.

Either go 2080 or 2060. The 2070 isnt worth it when you can OC the 2060 to almost similar performance as the 2070.
The 2060 is at the same level as the 1080. If you wanna go competetive gaming go 2080.

someone told me that At 1080p 144hz, both cards 2070 and 2080   will hit 144hz. But you'll have paid twice the price of a 2070 for no advantage over it.

do you agree>?

do  you believe  that  at 1080p the 2080 offers no advantage over the 2070.???

I don't have to believe.  I can use numbers and proof and facts and data.

Also, "no advantage" is not the same as "no big boost".  True,  there isn't a big boost, but only YOU can decide if the boost is worth paying for.  Have you never bought ANYTHING in your life?  You're acting like you can't understand marginal benefits or cost/benefit concepts at all.

The exact same PC with a 2080 will have higher FPS than with a 2070.  Scale it down a bit for your CPU/machine, but here's data with it trying to make it just about the GPUs..

Exactly.

We can't answer that for you, it's your money and your games.

For me, I'd get the 2070.
