Its probably fine.

 

Dude how much do you care about this data, if its important unplug it and send it to a recovery service, you really don't seem to know what your doing here, and everymistake is hurting changes of getting data back.

I mean, it's not passwords or personal information, but it's old videos from my childhood that I would like to hold onto.

 

Would it be that expensive to send it to a service? 

 

You're right, I don't know what I'm doing, but if the service is somewhat pricey I'd like to attempt it myself.

look around, but its normally about 300+.

 

This is why you make backups.

There's a few places around me, I'm going to take a look at their site. 

 

When this is all over I'm going to probably switch my two drives around, with the 1tb HDD I keep in my PC have all the videos, and external drive be the backup. Or buy a new 1tb 7200RPM HDD.

 

I'm going to look into guides with google but I'm not sure how comfy I feel about this.

 

I really do appreciate all the help.
