Does anyone know how to convert MOV to MP4?

The title explains it all. I'm looking to do it on a Mac.

MOV and MP4 are containers. You didn't mention anything about codecs.

If you are just changing containers, you can use ffmpeg or mkvmerge.

Usually this is terrible advice and you can seriously fuck up your files with it, so make sure you have a backup.

If you know they are the same codec (H264 for example) and you're in a pinch you can try to change the part behind the dot. So let's say from "ThisIsMyFile.MOV" to "ThisIsMyFile.MP4"

But like I said this should only be a last resoret if you cant install anything and if possible should be avoided as you might ruin your files.

Just use VLC. It has a built in converter, and should be able to do it very easily.
