Ryzen 5 2600 and EVGA 1070ti not performing well

Hello.

I built my computer around 3-4 months ago and i am noticing some quite low frames in some games.

 

My system is this:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 3.4GHz 6 Core 12 Thread

GPU: eVGA GeForce GTX1070ti black edition

RAM: G.Skill 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 Trident Z RGB 2400MHz

MOBO: Asus ROG STRIX B350F

 

In games like fortnite on ultra settings i get 60-65 fps which is quite low

 

Is there anything to fix this?

Have you got the latest drivers installed? Can you monitor your CPU and GPU usage while playing? If your GPU is not above 90% while playing then something is wrong.

Workstation:

What resolution are you playing at? Fortnight is a very demanding game so don't expect high FPS there. You need to try and overclock your RAM a little bit, do you have the XMP set in BIOS? It's not a huge performance bump but it definitely helps.

 

Like Husky said, monitor your hardware using HWInfo, when you open the program, select 'load sensors only' so that you can see a list of details. Keep that open in the background and play your game for a little while and then check the stats.

I wouldn't call Fortnite the most demanding game. My AMD A8-6600k and GTX 960 2gb even managed it for somewhat tolerable framerates.

I am playing at 1080p and i will do that. What am i expecting to get out of it?

I only tried playing it once on my 4k setup and let's just say that I didn't like using ultra settings. That was also before I upgraded from the 56 to the Vega 64.

Use DDU to completely wipe drivers and then reinstall latest normal (not DCH) drivers from Nvidia's website. Then check to make sure that the core clock is at max speed while gaming. Also check your Fortnite settings that the 3D resolution is set to 100%. Make sure that the frame rate limit is on Unlimited and that V-Sync is OFF.

How do I see if the core clock is at max and if it is not how do I make it go to max?

When you alt tab out of game the GPU goes into 2D mode, since it does not need the power.  A second monitor or windowed mode gaming is how you can monitor it

the GPU core clock is the frequency the chip on the GPU is running

The load is the GPU Core Load on your graph which hit 97% max (I believe that's HWinfo?)

Im not sure exactly what version of the 1070 card you have but it hit 1885mhz at some point
