It will work just fine. However I'd get the long flexible ones rather than those.

Yea, id get some flexible ones ofc ;) But it's pretty cool that it would work. That means i basically could have a total of 7 GPU's running on an old 775 mobo :D

That can work, but watch out for OS limitations. Windows won't like 7 gpus. If you know how to make it work in Linux then by all mean go ahead.

I'd recommend getting powered risers so that you don't burn out your motherboard

If you notice, it is PCI-e v1 compliant only. So any newer cards may have serious issues. Also, one card on a PCI bus will saturate the entire bus, considering many other things run on the PCI bus lanes. I would not do it. The only thing I might do that with is a x1 nic or something.
