I was wondering if the NZXT H400 MicroATX MiniTower supports a 280mm AIO Cooler in the front, specifically the EVGA CLC 280?

No, it doesn't. https://www.nzxt.com/products/h400-matte-white

It took me less than 10 seconds to find that information on google...

Hey hey, sometimes people just default to the forums. You are very right, the information is very much available to find very easily, but sometimes users just come to the forum because it's what they're used to. Also, I'm going to take a shot in the dark that the OP is younger and didn't think to check. I'm "younger" and have done the same thing.

Well, without telling people that the information is easy to find within seconds and that doing some research on your own may render posting on a forum irrelevant, they'll never get this idea. Posting those questions kind of clogs up the forum as well. I have the impression this is a general trend: people just default to ask someone else instead of looking things up. In this particular case I know of no manufacturer not listing radiator and/or fan mounts in the technical specifications of their cases. None. This is almost like a psu manufacturer not listing the maximum power rating.

Everyone has asked questions that turned out to be obvious or easy to answer. It's not a terrible thing and it does happen. But without telling people that a lot of information is easy to find and potentially quicker to find with a short google search, they'll never know.

That's kind of what I meant, people usually default to the forum.

I'm not trying to be rude, but I was a little surprised to see that you didn't know of case makers listing fan compatibility. Radiators are usually longer than the span of the two fans so case makers almost always list the support for stuff like that. A lot of people do custom loops and AIOs so it's very normal to see what fans will fit, and the radiator support.

Actually it DOES support 280mm Rad. (2x140mm = 280mm)

I built one with the Corsair H110i. 280mm rad.

I only found this thread because the pump died and Im going to replace it with the EVGA CLC 280. *Same question the OP asked.

You can NOT do a 280mm PUSH/PULL, only with the 120mm fans as the filter inside dimensions wont allow it. I have considered using adapter plates to put 120mm fans pushing into the 280mm.

* I did forget to mention that the Corsair H110i's radiator was taller than the cutout. *THe NZXT x62 (280mm) fits perfectly.
I had to bend the bottom out to allow the radiator to fit. This also messed up the way the filter snaps into place. Not an optimal setup.

I will let you know how the EVGA 280 works out. SHould be Monday.

This got me thinking. I couldnt find the cutout dimensions for the case. However I did a comparison of the radiator sizes.

*Recommended by NZXT is their own Kraken x62

Kraken: 315mm x 143mm x 30mm (Perfect)

Corsair: 322mm x 140mm x 27mm (Too Tall. Verified by me. See above picture.)

EVGA:   312mm x 139mm x 27mm (My guess it will fit perfect without modding case.)257350362_ScreenShot2019-11-03at9_14_22AM.thumb.png.a340ead274910e6ab8dadf2b7dc52ca7.png

The EVGA fits like a champ. We are doing a push/pull setup. Kept the Corsair fans on the inside and moved the EVGA fans to the outside.

Push/Pull

Spoiler

Notably those front fans will be less effective since they now have less space to pull air from (though in this case the EVGA fan frames do allow air to be pulled in from the sides of the blades unlike most full frame style fans)

What are the differences in temps between pull with just the corsair fans, and the push/pull with the EVGA fans at the front?)

Will let you know soon as we had a small mishap during the reassembly.

Quick update:

Due to time constraints our test was quick. 8086k @ 5.0 Ghz all cores. *preset on MSI motherboard.
*We replaced the MB and didnt have time to tweak the OC back up to 5.2Ghz

The EVGA AIO seems to be identical to the previous Corsair. The push/pull dropped the temp by a definite 4c. Like I said, it was a quick test. We set the RPM to 1500 and did a benchmark.

What is decently noticeable is how much quicker the temps drop once cpu is no longer under load.

Idle: 31

Under 3 min 100% load. = 74 degrees.

May be more significant once we bump up the OC.

***Not sure how I caught the CPU @ 93% when i took the photo. Didnt realize that until this morning. Temp maxed at 74.

Most AIO's under the hood are all the same, from the pump design (sourced from Asetek because of their stranglehold on their Pump CPU block combo patents) to the radiators. The biggest difference is "aesthetics of the Pump exterior, and the fans provided ,which is one of the reasons I was curious as to the results with the EVGA fans as their approach is quite different from most normal Radiator fans found on AIO's.
