Cpu upgrade

hey so my current cpu is the xeon e3-1225 v3 (3.2ghz 4 cores) and its been bottle knecking my gaming. Im unsure of what i should upgrade to.

i was hoping not to have to change my entire motherboard. Is there a cpu of the same chipset that would be better? (ive basically just plopped extra ram, a new gpu, and an ssd, into a lenovo server)

Is there a reason you went with Xeon?

 

I don't think much in that chipset will bring you to this decade    Ryzen is a fantastic choice, really.

i didnt intentionally go for xeon but the price on the computer was just too good. I got it for 230$  (it came with an ssd, 16gb of ddr3 and usb 3.0)

now i have quite the curious issue im unsure if the new motherboard will even fit into my pc. ive got a ts140. Im pretty sure my mobo is btx and the case opens from the opposite side (yeah im canadian)

i wouldnt recommend you keep your mother board but if you do get the i7 4770k
