I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Depending on your accommodations a pair of flip flops will do wonders. Communal showers can be the worst and footwear will at least take the edge off.

Apart from that, you always need assorted smaller tools. You never know when you'll need a crowbar, a hammer or a screwdriver.

I always pack light and take linen, laptop and tech etc, my bathroom stuff, I usually buy a new pan rather than bring one (I fly back to uni).

Always pack light and you’ll thank yourself.

Don't feel like there is a huge incentive for me to pack light?

If you get a power cut and your lights stop working, I think a torch would be quite good to have.

It depends on your country though. If you live in Europe, US, Canada, Australia or New Zealand you shouldn't have much trouble with power cuts.

Last time I had one was about 3-4 years ago now.

It'll be huge, just the essentials and a few doodads you'll be right as rain. When I first when to college I brought heaps of stuff, moving out was such a pain at the end of the year. I was pretty paranoid that I might need some stuff or might not, ended up with two suitcases full, and then brought. more throughout the year. Not great at all because I had to move out all at once. Simpler the better.

Oh and stuff for when it gets cold, especially if you are paying for power.

I mean pack light, less weight, not much, not pack a flashlight :), but I'm sure it will come in handy!

Oh that's fair enough then. I travel a lot different places and stayed in a hall for the first year. Good luck with university though :)
