Should I go for 4.8 GHz?

I tried 4.8 GHz with 1.280 voltage but that didn’t work. Instead I decided to do 4.7 GHz with 1.250 voltage which seems stable. That gave me a cinebench score of 730 (up from 712) which I’m satisfied with!

 

I mean, a score of 730 in Cinebench with an old i5-4690K ain’t too shabby :)

So basically I just want some opinions on if I should go for a 4.8 GHz overclock with my i5-4690K. Right now I'm on 4.6 GHz with a voltage of 1.240. While gaming the CPU stays at about 70 degrees and at the highest 75. 

 

I know I'm not on an overclocking motherboard since it is an B series but I haven't had any issues overclocking on it. But I'm not sure if I should push it more since I would probably need about 1.300 in voltage for 4.8 GHz and that might stress the MOBO. Though the v-core cooling on the motherboard seems quite good for being a B-series. 

 

Going from 4.2 Ghz to 4.6 gave me about a 20 FPS increase in BO4 (from about 90-130 FPS to 105-150 FPS all depending on which map I play). In cinebench the score went from about 660 points to about 712 points. I would be happy if I could gain 10 FPS going from 4.6 GHz to 4.8 but I don't know if it is worth the risk. 

 

What do you guys think?

What are your vrm temps right now?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Watch the core temperature and don't let it go past 80C, temps can start go out of hand at that point.

Only crossed my mind because the name of the motherboard was not listed, hoping it had a nice heat sink but wasn't able to check.

Should have realized, because I checked the sig for what CPU cooler was being used lol

I don't think overclocking a 4th gen i5 with B85 at 4.8ghz is a good idea. If it were me, i wouldn't do it, but if you are really itching to do it, then go for it, but keep an eye on the Temps and also, check the power rating of the mobo power connector on the PSU and make sure it can handle it :D

That's the problem. I don't think my MOBO have a sensor to show that...

Okay. I didn't consider the power connector on the PSU or anything like that but I know my PSU isn't that good so should maybe not do it.

Maybe. My monitor got 165 Hz so might aswell get as close to 165 FPS as possible :)

Mostly HWinfo, but also CPU-Z and CAM.
