hello, i have been playing some minecraft lately and i have been averaging around 20 fps on a non modded server. my render distance is 16 chunks and i use optifine. my specs are an intel i5 4670k@4.4ghz GTX 980 and i have 11gb allocated to minecraft. i run every other game completely fine on max settings like BF4 and GTA V so why is minecraft lagging so much?

try reinstalling it, and don't install any optifine or other mods to see how it runs stock.

Make sure you have the 64bit version of Java, also if nothing helps look into the windows 10 edition as it runs on potatos
