REFS and Storage Spaces

Hi all,

 

I am running my main home server/computer under win10 pro with storage spaces in mirrored config, 4x6gb + 3x4gb. I am wondering if anyone can give some advice on REFS and Dual parity, features that are not available under a standard Pro 10 license, I appreciate it.

 

 A) Is it worth the effort making the switch to REFS and/or dual parity?

B) Can I create the storage space on a server 2016 computer but migrate it back to a win 10 pro computer to actually use it on a daily basis (I understand server may have issues with some software as a general usage OS).

a, probably not, refs really won't make a difference, and parity is very slow

b. You can normally add features in server and windows 10 should work.

 

If you want refs and windows 10 they make windows 10 for workstations.
