you won't get a new laptop with Thunderbolt for that price. Maybe look at getting a used one.

Then get something used, you will get a much better built laptop that is much faster.

Is it worth it to get a used laptop?

Normally yes, you get a better laptop for the price.

What do you want thunderbolt for anyways?

Id look at a used thinkpad or latitude.

I would use my laptop in uni, and in the student hostel, I wont game on it, but as I mentioned I have a 1070ti here at home, and maybe I could use it via tb3

The low power CPU in the Laptop won't pair well with the 1070.  This is NOT WORTH IT.

how would thunderbolt help you then? You can't just connect the laptop to the desktop and make it faster.

But with a razer core or something else

but even then that laptop is way to slow.

Seeing the cost of egpu soltuions you will be better off just getting a low end gaming laptop

But this laptop will get the job done in uni? I mean, its good for browsing the net, for powerpoints, and stuff like that

4GB of RAM is cutting it pretty close these days, even for just browsing and spreadsheets, if they get big enough.  A used model might be a better option if you can find one.

You would still get horrible performance due to the crappy laptop specs.

It's not about just the GPU.
