I'll have about $3000 USD, and was wondering if there was any changes to be made? I only have a 1080p/144hz but I am planning on upgrading that down the line. Mostly will be used for gaming and recording game play, and light 3d modeling and animation in maya. Also, will the graphics card fit in the case? Any help is appreciated!

If you plan on recording gameplay and doing 3d modelling, I would switch to 8700k/9700k.

 

Don't buy 120mm AiOs, they're generally worse in performance when compared to similarly priced air coolers.

Swap your current cooler for the dark rock pro 4 (or non pro variant if you dont have enough money to spare); that mobo is hella overkill, the gigabyte z390 Aorus Pro will more than enough for the cpu; get the G2 model of the psu cause its better; and as for the gpu and case, check the dimensions, its not hard

9700k's lack hyperthreading unfortunately so a 9600k ought to do him fine unless he needs hyperthreading then he's gotta get an 8700k. Intel really wants to fuck us over by forcing us to purchase prosumer CPU's like the 9900k to get hyperthreading.

Still 9700k got 2 more cores compared to 9600k. But you're totally right, Intel is screwing us over with 9th gen chips

You are going overkill on the PSU, 650W is more than enough, 750W is the max I would go for. And your motherboard shouldn't cost more than your CPU, especially with an Intel system. Also, the H60 is a terrible cooler.

Thanks, I switched to a dark rock pro 4 for the cooler, the MSI MPG Z390 GAMING EDGE mobo, and a supernova g3 750w psu.

Personally I would dramatically increase your HDD storage to a 3 or 4Tb drive, especially if you're game recording and video editing you'll go through a huge amount of space fast. Also, I'm pretty sure that's not a nVME m.2 drive so you're losing out on the performace gains there, cheaper to just get a 2.5 inch SATA SSD. I would also suggest a motherboard without WiFi for cheaper, unless you really need WiFi and lastly, for about 30 bucks cheaper, you can pick up a Ryzen 7 2700X 8-Core 16-Thread processor.
