I have posted this on a few other forums, below is what I've put together from various suggestions and my own selections, enjoy =)

After some advice on what i have so far - possible replacements and such.

What ill need to do when i get the parts - Out of case burn, stress testing that sort of thing & how to do it, as I've never done so before - I have looked at some online videos but never hurts to ask.

After you read the parts list, you'll think I'm insane, stupid or awesome... to clarify, yes, yes i am.

1. Budget & Location
A lot...

2. Aim
Last for the next 5+ years with appropriate minor upgrades & maintenance.

4. Peripherals

Open to suggestions.

5. Why are you upgrading?
I enjoy it.

I like working on/for the best.

My current laptop is chugging behind trying to run everything I do

I don't want to buy another PC for several+ years

Finally, I spend much of my time in front of a computer.

Random questions;

- How do I do a 'out of case test' without a cooler on the CPU? what can i do to support this? assemble part of the water cooling system for it? ooor???

- I've done some math on the cooling required, not certain i got it right though... will those radiators be sufficient to keep it reasonably quite?

- Any recommendations on fan controllers? I have no experience in that area

How do i afford this? I live with my parents, have few expenses and no debts. Work my ass off, invest wisely, and save like a beast.

Constructive advice greatly appreciated, amusing criticism laughed at =D

I look forward to seeing what you guys think =)

All and only the best,

Kinza

i don't even know where to start but i would not get dominator platinum its a waste of money, many people will tell you that the soundcard is not a good choice and please don't buy really expensive audio and use it with a gaming headset. Fast computer - Zoooom =D

Been holding off on buying a ultimate pc... encase of that important stuff for a while... hasn't come up yet.

I'll take a look at the memory, and the sound system i already have the headset is so i don't keep my family up at night.

The parts you could save on which wont hinder performance is the case (900d is really for custom loops etc), the motherboard is super expensive (you could save and get a board with similar features), the psu is way overkill (a nice 860w would be plenty) and i would get some 1866 vengeance pro memory or a 1600mhz kit for even more savings

I'm kind of surprised that you went with 16gb instead of 32gb of ram. If you look for predone 16gb kits I think they're usually a little cheaper.

I'd probably skip the sound card. Higher end sound cards that feature 1/4" jacks, or RCA and digital outputs make a lot more sense. This one, not so much.

Power supply might be a tad over kill.

Not knocking it in any way. We've all built up supreme builds in our minds I'm sure! But there's definitely a point of "sweet build!" where you get awesome performance, and then the really over the top "oh, it's nice and all, but it looks like he's just showing off his wallet in the form of a computer." Sort of like the Extreme chips, that see virtually no performance gains that you wouldn't get from an OC'd step below chip yet they cost twice as much.

Or, in car terms, The person who owns the 911, compared to the guy that owns the 911 GT3 RS who you know damn well doesn't go near the track, or drive it in the rain.

Thanks for pointing out the case originally i grabbed the 750D but bumped it up when looking into water cooling.

Taking the case back to the 750D. Not dead set on the case - watching a review of the Fractal Define R4 now.

The memory I've swapped out for Corsair Vengeance Pro 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory

Swapped out the power supply =)

Removed the sound card, ill see how sound plays from the board and get it then if required.

I took a look at the suggested mice, personally i prefer a mouse that supports the fingers that aren't on the buttons.

And yes the keyboard, i saw the price and was I MUST HAVE IT =) its $165 when added to the cart, someone must have fucked it up.

Still looking at motherboards that could replace the rampage iv black

Random questions;

Kinza

Nice Build:D

I dont really knows whats so expensive but with that budget you could increase to a 4960x

----------------------------

Personal stuff:

I would recommend you to NOT build PC now. haswell-e is around the corner and DDR4,x99 and you got the budget for that.

So please X79 is today a waste and outdated becuze Haswell-e CPUs is expected to cost cheaper and it will be the new top of the line

SO SKIP THE PC, YOU WONT REGRET IT!

Some suggestions:

  • Use the Kraken X60 cpu cooler. It is quieter and cools better than the X40. It can be mounted up top leaving the the whole motherboard on display.
  • Buy a quad channel memory kit. It shouldn't make a difference but it does guarantee identically performing modules.
  • SSD should not be put in a RAID 0 array except in particular circumstances. In the usage profile described you should realize better performance from a single drive.
  • Got rid of some fans.
  • Included a slightly larger psu.

Do you just want a specifically expensive and baller system or just a baller system in general?

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/

A baller system, that feels like a baller system for the next 5+ years if at all possible. Going half assed, when i don't have to, doesn't seem worth the investment of time, energy or research let alone the cost.

Expensive seems to come with that outlook.

Wait for Haswell-e and DDR4, especially if you are willing to spend the money for premium hardware.

I dont think that this is worth at all when 4k is already so close... I would rather wait 1/2 year for 60Hz 4k when spending so much money.

Release dates are unknown. Could be 3rd quarter 2014, could be sometime in 2015.

There is always some new better tech just around the corner. Always! Unless there is a specific feature one wants and unless one knows when it will actually appear, don't wait.
