First Ever Build Planning

STEMgrh

I am thinking about creating a build for gaming (fortnite) and light video production. (Da Vinci Resolve or Premere Pro) How does this look? Thanks!

If you want to stick with what you have, go with a motherboard like this, and a PSU like this or this.

That said, you'll get way more for you money by going with Ryzen for video editing.

You can use the stock cooler for the 2600, or you can upgrade to a 2700 for more cores and use that stock cooler. You'll need an adapter if you want to use the hyper 212, though it will compare very closely to the stock cooler so not a huge deal.

9600k - 6 core 6 threads for $249

2600 - 6 core 12 threads for $169

For anything than gaming, you would want the extra threads.

This is vastly superior than your build, Ryzen 2600 + RTX 2060. For the same price...

If going Nvidia should I wait for new 16 or 11 series cards?

2060 or 1160 you mean?

1160 will be a downgraded version of 2060, it lacked the RTX core.

i think it should be cheaper. and would fill the 1050ti market.

2060 is a good price to perfomance, if you can get it now, i think its a great choice.

AMD won't deliver anything new other than Vega 2, and Navi is nowhere in sight.

So don't count on them on the GPU part.

I don’t need RTX so it would be worth the wait
