Hello people, another sad story about the H100i = [sOLVED] no longer an issue

Two months ago I bought an H100i, and it worked perfectly. After about a month and a bit I started having the first problems. After a few days of running my computer 24/7 the H100i would for some reason stop being detected by Corsair Link. The fans would still work, and so would the pump, but the LED would turn blue. Corsair link did not detect it as a device, so I could not monitor or edit the fan rpms, cpu temperature, H100i temperature, or light colour. A reboot would fix this for a few more days, till it happened again.

NOW it no longer fixes itself by rebooting.

Some things I tried to fix this:

-changing the USB port

-reinstalling corsair link

-downgrading corsair link

-flashing the firmware (FIXED IT)

In my device manager for windows it shows up under 'unspecified' called 'internal USB bridge' and I'm not sure if that's normal

The only way I can think of fixing this is a firmware update, but Corsair no longer has the firmware for the H100i, and idk why. Currently it still works, the fans are still at the default settings and the pump runs fine, I just cant change anything in Corsair Link. Also, blue is not my theme colour, and I can't change it. It USED to work fine...

I have finally found the firmware for it, and flashing it worked! So glad I don't have to RMA it...

I have no idea how the firmware got screwed up in the first place, but as long as it works I'm happy = ]

Most of what I have read involves issues with Corsair link. Install any new software recently that might be conflicting? Otherwise, contact Corsair support. They have been really good to deal with when I have had to contact them. Maybe someone else will have some ideas on things to try....

One thing - in Windows, delete the unspecified device. Then reboot, Windows should pick iu up again and hopefully install, or prompt you for, proper drivers.

I have the same problem with my Corsair link in my H100i. I was able to reinstall the Corsair link software to get it to work. So I got the color I wanted and never opened the software again for a long time. I plugged my fans into my motherboard and used that controller (fan xpert 2) because it works 100% of the time unlike the Corsair link. Since I made this change I have uninstall Corsair link and removed the cable and have had no problems or color changes.

  • 6 months later...
I had the same problem and managed to fix it.

I bought a NZXT Internal USB Expansion (model IU01).

Setup the h100i in the NZXT header and after the boot, h100i appeared in the Corsair Link.

After that I updated the firmware, changed the led color and setup the fan speed.

It seems to be working normally.
