New PfSense Router (Continued...)

Will this Server make a good PfSense Router? I know all the drive space would be wasted, but it’s fine. Would future updates of PfSense run well on this server?

It'd work just fine for a pfsense setup...but would be overkill in pretty much every aspect.  Power consumption would be through the roof as well.  The price tag is a big selling point though.

I'd personally run a hypervisor on it with pfsense as a guest as well as other services. Otherwise it will just sit idle wasting tons of power.

 

1U rack mount servers are usually very loud so just make sure you have a spot to put it.

Very overkill for pfsense and will be very loud. Find yourself a nice embedded motherboard with an atom and 4x gigabit ethernet ports for WAN, LAN, WLAN etc.
