use keyboard and mouse on 2 computers

I have 2 computers and one display and one set of peripherals. I switch the display out with my monitors controls from hdmi and dp, but I dont have anything for the periphirals. I just have to move them. Any solutions?

I actually looked into this, but it seems that you have to have multiple displays in this way. I only use one at a time but switch back and forth.

Go for a USB switch then, I'm just answering your question, you didn't say what budget or anything.

USB switches can be had for maybe $15 or so for a 2to4 switch maybe, which allows you to connect 4 peripherals to 2 computers.. just remember that ALL the peripherals are switched over, so bear that in mind if you are gonna use USB flash drives.

You can just continue to use the physical input switch to swap the monitor from one to the other, and Synergy lets you keep your mouse/keyboard plugged into ONE of the machines, and used on both.

As far as I know, synergy lets you move your mouse between two different computers. I don't have 2 monitors for this to work like that.

Synergy is configured in such a way that you can move your mouse off the left of the screen, it will jump to the other computer (or the right, or top, or bottom) - you don't NEED to have two screens at the same time, as far as synergy is concerned, the one monitor is two, as both machines are plugged into a display.  If that makes more sense...

 

So you're on PC #1 and want to switch to PC #2, just hit your input button, then move your mouse to the left a few times, and it will "pop" onto #2, and PC #2 takes control of the peripherals.

Yeah but if I move my mouse too much then it will just put it in the other computer.

If you lose your mouse, just move to the left or the right

 

Your only other real choice is a KVM or USB Switch, which would both most likely be more expensive.

the usb switches are like 15 bucks, how much is synergy?

EDIT: just checked and it's 30 or 40 dollars.
