What the heck is going on?

TotallyNotYaBoi

Hello all!

I am a 15 y/o based in NJ facing a series of very mysterious issues with my system.  It started back in August when the system was first built.  My issues include coil whine, poor visual quality, Micro stutter, Poor Anti-Aliasing, terrible Draw Distance, Exceptionally high CPU usage, Weird loading/disappearing polygons, variable and late loading textures.  Refer to the timeline for further info and thank you all for your help :)

Specs:

i5 8600k @ 3.6GHz

GTX 1080 @ 1.8 GHz (Auto Boosted)

16GB 3200 MHz DDR4 RAM

Asus Z370 Gaming-H LGA 1151

650W EVGA Modular PSU

1 TB WD Blue HDD

128GB M.2 SSD

Arctic ESports Freezer 33, keeps CPU 65c under full load

Mid-August: Built system, works fine

Late-August:

  1. Coil Whine starts, request new card
  2. New card arrives, No change,  Request new PSU
  3. PSU arrives, No change, decide to ignore it.

Graphical Issues First Appear:

  1. Issues listed above ^
  2. Checked Drivers, Updated, No change
  3. Checked Nvidia Settings, 100+ hours fooling around, No change
  4. Tried New Card, No Change
  5. Tried new RAM, No Change
  6. Switched back to Intel, (Initial Spec was Ryzen R5 2600x), No change
  7. Tried new PSU, No change
  8. Tried cleaning power (APC) and looked for new power source, No Change
  9. Changed BIOS Overclocking and other options back to stock, No change
  10. Reinstalled Windows x 12, On various occasions, no change.
  11. Tried other monitors, No change
  12. Tried HDMI, (Run Display Port), No Change
  13. Tried other PCI-E slots for the card, No Change
  14. Attempted different monitor sync technology, other than G-Sync, no change

As of right now I am desperate for answers and have been waiting for 5 months to play Battlefield 1 with friends without constant stutter and graphical interruption. Any help that can be provided would be much appreciated :)

Regards,

A Very Sad, Aspiring Linus

Not sure how stating your age and location is going to help with anything, but I'm a 9999999999 y/o based on the far side of Uranus.

Try another power cord

Try plugging your computer in another room with a different outlet

Update motherboard bios

I'm a 21 y/o based in LA

Try making another user account on the computer and try running the game if the issues continue maybe its a hardware issue. Also I'm sure a slight overclock would help in general after you figure this out.
