So, my new computer is in a room that shares a wall with the room with the router(living room). So I am thinking of drilling a hole in the wall to get an ethernet cable through the wall, the distance with the hole between the computer and the router is around 12 ft. So I have been looking for some good and preferably cheap long cables. Also, I cannot move the router because it will limit internet to the house. I saw this one and it seemed pretty good, any other ones?

A cable is a cable, buy the cheapest Cat 5E.

Not true, but most of the time, all cables you find in your local computer store are fine, as long as it is Cat5e or higher. Be careful when you buy online however.

I would say get some crimpers and a pair of rj-45 connectors and get cat 5e or cat 6 cable and terminate the ends yourself. mucho cheeper and you will have them to use in the future.

Weeeeeell that's not entirely true in the case of analog signals, but when it comes to digital signals which are all on / off (or rather high / low) over realistic lenghts that is generally the case.

Get CAT6A STP. If your internet is below 100Mbps. Then CAT5e.

The rubber protection breaks easily on CAT 5e cables

I'd go for CAT 6 since they're physically more durable.
