GTX 980 Ti?

So I just built my first rig with an OC'ed Ryzen 5 2600X and Superclocked GTX 970 and want to build an even beefier build within 2 1/2 to 3 years. At that time, will the GTX 980 Ti 6GB, in raw performance, still be a great card for most games at 1080p. I know we can't really predict how demanding games will be but I'm just curious to see what people think.

Not really going to able to tell.

There can be big changes in api's or Ray tracing. 

Is 1080p still going to be the go to res?

Not to mention panels and their technology

 

As for the 980 to currently. It comes down to price to preformance. A good deal is a good deal

There's gonna be something like an RTX 5050 or something that does it just well enough over an old 980ti.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

yeah, i got the first nividia update for dlss and the performance of my 1070 dropped, i know it will continue to occur with more updates so, it probably wont be great, but i am sure it will work great for a good while

IMO if you can find it for the right price hell yeah. Has more cuda cores than a 1080, wider bus, you can actually OC it and modify things on it, and when OCed to around 1580Mhz they beat FE 1080s.

3 years away, like OP said, and also there's a new rumor that Nvidia will skip the 30xx series and go to 40xx which would be inane
