Getting a phone with a deeply discharged battery up and running again

So I thought I'd make it quick and clear. 

 

My old phone is a 2016 Moto Z that only got its battery replaced last October. I haven't used it for a week before today, and as a result, the battery had gradually drained until it's at the point where the phone is unable to power on due to insufficient voltage. 

 

The obvious solution is to hook it up to the original charger as it gives the best possible result, which in this case is the Motorola 5V/3A 15W fast charger. I had done this before and it was successful. 

 

This time around however, even after 30 minutes, the phone was unresponsive. It is warm, so it does seem to be charging, but the phone isn't responding to any command to power on. I don't recall needing to wait so long to revive a battery minus needing to perform multiple acrobatic battery swap moves on an old Xiaomi to get it to power on by its own. Naturally, since the battery of the Motorola phone is sealed shut, that isn't possible. 

 

So I'd like to ask how long should I keep it on the charger to get it to power on. Because I'm rather reluctant to have to change the battery again given that it's so new.

What he means is try pulling out the battery and plugging the phone into the charging cable. Some phones it works and others it doesnt. 

 

All phones even ones "Sealed shut" can be opened. Just a matter if you can put it back together properly.

 

 

Chances are what you'll have to do is go online and buy a replacement battery. Just look up guides online on how to do it but remember any damage is on you.

Not exactly the answer I had in mind, to be brutally honest (since I had mentioned that I wasn't really willing to swap the battery) 

 

I'm not willing to crack open the device because I don't have the tools and also because I am not confident in doing so without causing damage. I already broke an LG G4 thanks to a very badly installed screw from the manufacturer. 

 

It already had a new battery and it has even tougher adhesive applied, so it'll be harder to open up.

So I'll probably just keep it hooked up to the charger for a few hours. 

 

If it doesn't revive itself, probably have no choice but to find a replacement battery
