Laptops For Uni/College

Hey guys (and gamer grills)

I live in the UK and will soon be going to University (or college for the Americans). I have decided not to take my tower build as it is too big nor powerful enough considering it is 5 years old (fx-6300, 750ti, 8gb ddr3), and i have decided to buy a laptop or 2 to meet my needs.

I will need a laptop with a battery life of at least 6 hours but that will also pull in decent gaming performance (or with a noticeable improvement over my tower of a 750ti)

I am looking to spend £1200, $1500 or $2000 CAD

Please can someone advise me for what approach or even suggest any laptops that i could get

I would be willing to get 2 laptops within the budget, 1 with good battery life and 1 for gaming

Or

A laptop such as a blade stealth that is a mix of the 2 (I think)

Many Thanks

Razer's Quality assurance and control needs to improve before getting any recommendations from me. Things that generate problems in months isnt acceptable.

I think Gigabyte Aero 15X and MSI GS63 (GS65 maybe?)'s low spec (GTX 1060 6GB) model can fit your needs, but the budget can limit your options on monitor, memory and storage.

I would purchase the laptop here in the UK. Weight doesn't really matter unless it is stupidly heavy and battery life needs to last for at least 6 hours

the perfect laptop would be one that is good at gaming (for the price) and that has a battery life of around 6 hours.

Then I'd recommend either a moderately specced Dell XPS or a Lenovo Y730.

The XPS with the FHD option if you want better portability (actually 10hrs+ battery).

The Lenovo if you want better gaming performance. It's 1060 is better than the 1050ti in the XPS in every way, but you are giving up a lot of battery life, it would probably barely manage your 6hr mark.
