Laptop for work AE/PR/C4D Under CAD 1000

Mesiah

Hello guys!

I am looking for the perfect laptop! and in that jungle of brands and models I am a bit lost.

My idea is the following:

I am looking for a Long lasting, light Laptop.

16Gb ram minimum and a 4-6Core +HT CPU (3.6Ghz min). + 1 SSD.

I dont care about the graphic card, as long as it can run some recent OpenGL Instructions and light 3d As I plan to have an eGPU that I can connect when I am home.

That will not be my main RIG. I will mostly do After Effect/PR Export, 3D scenes modifications (but no Renders) and Photo Editing.

So My main focus would be, a 13-15"laptop with a good IPS screen, Long lasting battery and a decent CPU.+Thunderbold USBC to link my eGPU.

Is this something realistic with a sub 1000CAD ?

If so, would you have any recommendations?

thanks a lot!

Not likely. Thunderbolt alone is almost exclusive to the $1000+ price category, and external docks are all $600+. You're best off getting a laptop with an i5 or i7 and a 1050 ti. The Walmart laptops come to mind.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Ha! Thanks for your answer! Sorry,

I am not counting the price of the dock,

for it, I plan to get a RazerCore + Gtx 2070 to render my projects.

but if Thunderbolt is on 1000+ I guess I can invest up to 1200$.
