so i met this guy and hes about to buy an alienware. i told him (his bugdet is "somewhere in the ballpark of 2k") if i find better one for you in that price will u buy? he said yes so now i need a laptop that better than the middle option here: http://www.dell.com/ca/p/alienware-17/pd and i already told him build pc but he needs the portability of the laptop for his work. his use case is "mainly games and streaming". so before he goes and blows 2k lets help him and get him a better one!

With laptop gaming pcs, there is so much out there that it would probably be best to take price and specs into consideration heavily. As long as its coming from a reputable brand/place, primary objective should probably be getting the best bang for your buck. If its going to be used for work, it would probably be a good idea to try and try them before you buy them since comfort is especially important in this case.

in fact that is as far from work as you can go. A 12/300$ PC and a 7/800$ actual freaking work and portable ultrabook is the best way to go.

Not a bad suggestion tbh. The Asus and MSI gaming laptops are fuckin bricks compared to the razer blade.

You can do a lot with 1200 too. 800 for laptop 1200 for pc.
