Running 1866 MHz ram with 4th gen core i3 processor.

Go to solution Solved by Levent,

it will run without any issues, I am running 2133mhz rams with my 3570K

As I've learnt, one can use higher frequency ram on a motherboard with lower compatibility with the only downside that the ram will run at the frequency of the motherboard. But what about the processor? 4th gen core i3 supports only upto 1600 MHz. But all the good Kingston ram available in my country is mostly 1866 Mhz. Can I use 8 gb 1866 MHz ram with a processor that supports only upto 1600 MHz?

The motherboard should be the only limiting factor.
