Minimum size SSD for windows 7 (64bit)

Alright so i was wondering whats the minimum size SSD for windows 7 because i have it on my mine but also allot of other stuff so im not able to get an idea anyone know?

I think you could get away with a 32GB, but 64GB is more preferable.

My dad had no problem with a 50GB but he upgraded to a 128GB. (The 50GB is now in my laptop. In 2009 my laptop had a 4GB HDD, so I know how to manage HDD space.)

So, you're using it on your mining rig?

You can get away with 64gb easily. The price difference between one of these and a lower capacity drive is negligible (maybe $15).

i was just wondering because im currently putting a budget rig together for someone and seeing if i could fit a ssd for the os in

Depends where you livem but you can usually find 120gb SSD's on sale, so I'd shell out the money for that.
I've had a 64GB SSD with Windows on it. It sucked. You can only fit a couple games on it (nothing like BF either, that would require a separate drive), I was constantly moving files around trying to free up space.

With the cost of SSD's as they are today, definitely go with 120gb. It's not that much more.

256GB, or stay HDD.

 

256 is only if you have heaps of programs/games you want. An OS only SSD will only require a 32 to 64GB drive. You could put a few little programs that you commonly use onto it as well.
