Z390 Build is complete! Almost...

TrinityHigh

My Z390 Build is complete! Well, almost... I'm just waiting on the CableMod PSU cables and CableMod 2x 30cm RGB Strips to be delivered but I couldn't wait!

I am quite happy with this build! I am thinking about painting the PCI slots black rather than the stock white color. Looking forward for my light strips so I can have a warm white tone to show off the build as I am not a fan of crazy colors all over the place. Looking for positive or negative feedback to see if I can improve this build, other than the cables and case lighting!

Cheers all and a happy new year!

*EDIT 01/03/19* CPU @ 5GHz OC - 35 degrees C - idle

*EDIT 01/03/19* GPU @ 1,897 MHz - 52 degrees C - idle

Going to run a stress test shortly to see what my temps are for the CPU. I am sort of worried about temps under load for the 9900K but I prefer air cooling vs water cooling.

I personally don't think the 9900k is warranted until you are at the 2080, 1080 ti, or 2080 ti level. That being said your next gpu upgrade will probably let the 9900k actually stretch it's legs.

Ooooooooo... that's gorgeous. Thinking about selling some of my other rigs and making a 9900K setup myself, I'd have to use an NH-D15S to cool it though (sadly the Pro4, while gorgeous, doesn't fit in the case I wanna use, an S340 Elite). Lemme know how temps are though!

4.7 ghz is the 9900k's stock frequency so idk why you would overclock to 4.7.

Just OC'd to 5 and temps only went up 2C

Thanks for the info. Do you think it would make sense for me to actually downgrade my CPU to the 8700K while saving money seeing you say I won't be able to get all the performance from the 9900k because of the 1080?

Not if you already built the thing.

Thanks! I was thinking about going back to NZXT but I couldn't leave my Define S. I personally do not like PSU shrouds lol. Temps below!

CPU idle - 35 C

CPU under load - 87 C

GPU idle - 52 C

GPU under load - 76 C

I thought the CPU and GPU temps would be higher but the temperature in my basement is pretty cold lol!
