Will a pc turn on without a cpu?

Hi I'm building my first pc, my new processor wont be here until Monday, and I have the power supply and motherboard hooked up I was wondering if I could turn it on just to see if the lights flash or the fans spin just to know if I'm connecting everything properly basically to reassure myself I'm doing this right, thanks

I just happen to be in the same predicament, but what happens to me is that when the switch on the PSU is turned on, all the fans spin up to full speed. It does appear to turn on and yours should do just the same.

It'll try to boot but will fail. It's different for each mobo. Some will let you into the bios, others will flick on then off.

You may be able to get into the BIOS but other than that you'll probably just get an error code on your screen telling you that there's no CPU installed.

Ok I just dont wont to damage any components or anything just at least a flick of light from the motherboards rgb or a fan spin is all I need

That cable management.. Let me tell you something about PCs. If you're going to build a PC to work for you, the least you can do is keep the cable management clean. It's easier to find your cables if you need to take something out. Also, it looks nicer!

Well I'm poor anyways I'm not rich unlike most people, I came here for help not to get my stuff I treasure dearly insulted
