Didn't get what you mean previously. Sorry.

If this is your use case, then you can get a S/PDIF switch for all devices and Digital-Analog Converter for 3.5 mm jack.

Ok this is a length questions.

So I got a PS4 and currently its hooked up to my TV, the TV has speakers and is outputting the sound, but I'm only home for the holidays. I normally live in a university accomodation and the monitor i bring with me is a 1080p one, it doesnt use HDMI it instead uses a VGA, now becasue it has no speakers I cant hear any sound. Now i could use headphones and stick them into my controller but I dont want to do that.

Now i have a set of Logitech PC speakers with a subwoofer, the sub and speakers are small ngl but they are powerful. The speakers plug into the sub and the sub then plugs into the pc via the line in and line out ports on the back of a motherboard, the sub also has a volume control thingy attached to it with both a headphone jack and a mic jack and a power switch. Could i somehow set these speakers up to be used as speakers for my PS4 and would there also be a way to incorporate an Xbox one into this set up?

This is a rough guess but would i have to get a digital audio to analogue auido converter and do it that way ?

You only need to plug in the green jack (for speakers) into the jack on the D-A converter with a headphone sign on it.

You could also plug in your speakers into the controller, use a HDMI Audio splitter or the TOSLINK thing...

Yes and there are two ways to do that:

a) HDMI Splitter like this.

b) A Sony/Philips Digital Inter Face...

But seriously:
A smallish new screen with HDMI input comes usually with Audio Out connectors, so that might be the better solution. And even not that much more expensive either.
