Anyone know where this could've been downloaded from?

I just found some spyware on my computer called riskware.remoteadmin. Obviously, I removed it with Malwarebytes (that's good enough, right? It's all gone?), but I was curious as to what it is exactly and where I got it from. Any ideas? Thanks!

EDIT: Never mind, apparently it's from something I downloaded to dry and get remote desktop working on my PC called RDPWrap:

https://github.com/stascorp/rdpwrap/issues/277

Reading the comments, it appears it's because of the way the installer behaves, and it's not actually malware. Oh well, still not coming back :P

Wrong question.

The right questions are: "Have I surfed through any suspicious sites lately?" "Have I downloaded any files or programs that might have had the malware attached?" and similar such questions.

I'm not that stupid. I stay on safe sites only, and if I'm researching stuff and find a sketchy website, I research the URL to see if it's safe to click on.

Also, read the edit.

It's not about being stupid. It's about being prepared when you stumble on such a site inadvertently. Anyway, I'm glad you found the source.
Sometimes antivirus programs define some apps or code snippets as malicious, even though they aren't. Can happen a lot when you're pirating games and using key generators and cracks, as an example.

Yeah, I think that's what happened with the thing Malwarebytes flagged as malicious. Oh well, I don't need it anymore as I found a better alternative (not to the exact program, but I found something that accomplishes what I was trying to accomplish with the "malicious" program). I'm paranoid when it comes to viruses, so if I go to a website that even looks sketchy, I close out of it and run a scan with MWB.
