So I am hoping you guys will be able to help me out...

 

My previous build got destroyed by a power surge...thankfully only the CPU and Motherboard.

My previous specs along with whats remaining are:

• i5 7500 - Buggered
• MSI B250 PC Mate - Buggered
• Raidmax Thunder RGB 535W
• Crucial 8 Gb DDR4 2400 Mhz
• 1 TB HDD
• 250 GB HDD
• WD 240 GB SSD
• Galax GeForce GTX 1060 EXOC 6GB

 

now, my insurance did pay out and I have the options for the following:

 

Intel Build:

Intel Core i5 8400

MSI B360 GAMING PLUS 8th Generation Motherboard

4GB DDR4 desktop Memory 2400MHz Ryzen Builds:   MSI X370 GAMING PRO CARBON AMD AM4 RYZEN Motherboard  AMD RYZEN 5 1600X 19MB CACHE Up to 4.0GHz CPU 8GB DDR4 2666MHz RAM   ASUS TUF B450-PLUS Gaming AMD Ryzen Motherboard AMD RYZEN 5 2600 19MB CACHE Up to 3.9GHz CPU 8GB DDR4 2666MHz RAM So basically those are my options within my budget, I am an avid gamer so that is my priority.   Could you all please assist me in making a decision?   Thank you all kindly :)

That 2nd Ryzen build would be the best option. Although I would get 3000Mhz RAM and a little higher quality board like Asus B450-F for better overclocking headroom.

Ddr4 3000mhz (2*4GB)

 

The low end ASUS boards suck. Get the Tomahawk instead

The 2600, though if you can wait a bit I'd see what Zen2 looks like.
