let me put it like this. my own 1070 ti sc 3 has better performence in 3dmark then 3dmarks 4k pc (980 sil). for the price it's a fair upgrade. There are some great 1070 ti cards, if you need help with it, let me know

Any help or advice you could give would be greatly appreciated. I was looking at the 1070ti zotac amp extreme edition as it’s on sale for 380 right now and didn’t know if it would be a good buy

the amp! extreme is a well cooled card. but it's also a big one, make sure you can actually fit it. also, I have heared some compains about the costumer service, but I only deal with EVGA's, so I can't tell you that much about that

Isn't going from a 980 to 1070ti a one level upgrade?

I’m not sure but I’m looking for a middle ground upgrade at the moment and the 1070ti seemed like a good deal for the price. I’m need something to hold me over for about a year or so until I can build a fully new rig

As long as the card is good for the price I’ll deal with customer service if need be. Just need a good middle ground upgrade for about a year or so until I can build my fully new rig

well, the 1070 ti with a little overclock can perform like a 1080. as long as you get a well cooled card like this one (and one that fits), you're completly fine. if you like this one, go ahead I would say
