Hello, I made this build on pcpartpicker and I would really want your opinions before I buy this. What upgrades/downgrades should I make? The price can go up to $2000 max.

You have an overclockable CPU on a cheapo motherboard that can't overclock. Bad idea. Either step down your CPU to a 8700 non-K with a cheap air cooler or buy a Z390 board.

Also seems like a pretty overpriced GPU, got a cheaper EVGA one for ya ;)

Refer to the above comment for a revised list, but to add my two cents, if you have $2,000 and don't already have a monitor, I recommend swapping out the 2070 and getting a Vega 64 with a 1440p 144hz Freesync Monitor. Very similar performance, plus or minus in some games, but with the cheaper price of the Vega, you could get a much better monitor within the same budget, which would really add to the experience. You could also just step down to a 1070 or something and get an equivalent G-Sync Panel, but they're incredibly pricy. But if you're planning to use this system with a generic monitor, just don't. It's overkill.

Thank you for your suggestions. I'm willing to get a better motherboard, but I really don't know very much about them. The one you suggested seems to not have heat spreaders, but I really don't know what else should I buy. The GPU is on sale in my country, almost 35% off.

@leo1798 I already have a GSync 144Hz monitor, but I don't have a very good PC right now, it's 3 generations old.

9700k with a b360 micro atx motherboard? You can't overclock.. Also, you don't need that fast of memory for Intel CPU's. You can actually get by with ddr4-2400 memory in my opinion. Last, only 500gb of SSD storage? If you don't need the data transfer speeds then SATA SSD's are perfectly fine. Most people don't need NVMe PCIe storage. Get a samsung 860 evo 500gb and a WD Blue 1tb.

Ah, ignore my comment then, the RTX 2070 is perfect for your circumstances. Just have to be sure :)

Thank you for your suggestions. I really should have put this information in the main post, my bad. Right now, I'm getting a pretty good deal on both the GPU and CPU (i7 9700K). It's weird in my country, right now the 9700K is cheaper than 8700K, it's about $380. I'll wait for more suggestion on the motherboard.

@mxk. You're right, I think I will be fine with the 2400 kit. Also, you're saying that it's not a big difference between NVMe and SATA? In that case, I think I'll stick with SATA.

There actually is a big speed difference, but you need to consider, do you need the crazy speed, or is it more of a nice to have kind of thing. SATA is still pretty fast but NVMe is more useful for people who need to move data around fast.

Are you overclocking? Or do you plan to do it in the future?

I plan to overclock this CPU. I never overclocked a CPU before, but I want to start with this one. :)

Then you need a Z370 or Z390 motherboard. I think a GIGABYTE AORUS ELITE Z390 is a really good pick to be honest, for Z390. For Z370, the ASRock Extreme4 is a really solid board for overclocking, too. Both are really good for overclocking but it all depends on what country you're in. Actually, what country are you in?

I just checked and both motherboards are about the same price, with minor differences. I think I would go with the Z390, I just got more confidence in the brand. I've owned an ASRock motherboard before and it broke twice... I'm from Romania, the prices here are usually higher, but it's weird in the holiday season, some components that should be more expensive than others are exactly opposite. Thank you very much for your help and time.

Swap the m.2 for a sata iii ssd, there wont be a noticable difference unless you're doing certain workloads and even then itll only shave off a few minutes (reputable sata iii ssds are going for about half the price of m.2 drives right now).

The rest looks pretty good, as recommended above you might want to consider a slightly older chip if you can get it for significantly cheaper. Especially if you plan on doing something like lm and delidding later (better for OCing)

Also unless you plan on OCing pretty hard you can prob get a cheaper psu, 750w platinum is a bit overkill
