11001000.01101100.00000101.00100000      IP in Binary

  11111111.11111111.11111111.00000000          Subnet

11001000.01101100.00000101.00000000      "ANDed" address (which is 200.108.5.0)

If you lined up these in binary vertically (comes out weird on the forum), if there is a 1 and a 1, it is 1. If it is a 0 and a 1, its a zero. If its a 0 and a 0, its a zero. After you do that, you have the address 200.108.5.0 in binary. The subnet represents the network, the IP represents the hosts. If you AND the address, you get the beginning of the subnet.

Its been some time since I AND'd, someone correct me if i got the details wrong.
