Power supply, wrong cable

I have a 600w power supply but the cable says it supports 1200w, will this damage any of my components or the power supply itself?

No, it probably means the cable supports a maximum wattage of 1200w. Also what cable are you referring to? If it's the one that plugs into the wall, then the cable is capable of drawing a maximum of 1200w, but your PSU will regulate the amount it needs.

if you mean the power cable, that's a legal requirement  (and in fact, in EU they need to do something like 3850 watts)

I got the power supply from my uncle about a year ago and he had a bunch of power cables to power supplies laying around and I accidentally grabbed the cable to his 1200w power supply.

 

Also I only found the wattage because of researching. It doesnt have it on the cable.
