Receiving " Called RunScript when not marked in progress" followed by "Called InstallFinalize when no install in progress."

New to the community, so I apologize if this is not the correct forum to post this. If so, then please let me know and i will repost in the correct page.

 

Running windows 10. I am trying to install an application that i had previously with no issues. Built a new machine and did a fresh install of Windows and am now trying to install the program again, but I keep receiving two errors during the install. The two errors are back-to-back and say, "Called RunScript when not marked in progress.", "Called InstallFinalize when no install in progress."

 

I have searched far and wide for a solution but everything I've come across doesn't work. Does anyone from the fine LTT community have a solution for this? Fingers crossed over here because I don't know what else to do.

Good news! I FINALLY found a fix! If anybody else comes across this problem, follow these steps that are linked below. Worked like a charm! Hopefully this will help you as it did for me!
