Opening SD storage on my computer... taking a long time

As the green bar right below the word manage indicates, this download should be almost done. I’ve been waiting here for about 20 minutes and it hasn’t finished... am I doing something wrong? I’ve read SD cards are just slow... it’s a 16 gb card that I’m opening after 1 year that was on an older phone.

 

so how long is this supposed to take?

It's not recognising the card it seems. It might be trying to access it but not succeeding.

Try it in another pc. If that didn't work you may have lost the data and might want to try data recovery. 

Unfortunately flash storage is not great for long term data retention. For a sd card that has been used a lot (or a lower quality card to start with) then they are only quoted to hold data for a year.
