Cosair AX860 PSU

Cosair 460x case with 6 fans

850EVO 500GB

My results are awesome system upgrade made a huge difference in gaming I can now play 4K Ultra Blacks Ops 4 Black out steady 60FPS+ no dips as with my old system I was getting 45-60 dips now is steady 60+ FPS. I don’t know if my old system was already dieng or not enough CPU power for the RTX 2080  costly upgrade but I like it.

Frametime / 1% and 0.1% lows are a thing too did you know? It ain't just about fps averages.

No I know they still there but in laggy areas where the older system bogged out I don’t notice it anymore with newer system, the game feels smoother overall I haven’t format it my SSD yet.

it definitely matters, even farcry 5 on 4k medium requires cpu, once you get over 80ish fps some cpus just choke, not even talking about the cpus that chokes in the 40s (4790k/8600k cough cough)

This is why I'm scared to make the dip into 4K, as I still hold onto my 4790K. even thought I'd be better served with more cores..

Once I go down that rabbit hole so does my wallet/savings account ?

When the PC is acting up haunted,

who ya gonna call?
"Monotone voice" : A local computer store.

*Terrible joke I know*

ya, i was talking to a friend, he bought a pre-built 8700/1060 for a decent price. He has a 1080p/60 monitor

"as long as you don't upgrade your monitor you are fine"

I went over each upgrade option with him and the numbers got outta hand pretty quickly. "120hz+1070 ti=500usd, oh you might need a new psu, 600"

Your CPU is holding you back when you see its usage is at 100 percent in a game.  Then it is pretty much choking..

Me personally, I play 2 games,, Quake Champions and Unreal Tournament Alpha.  I play @ 1080p all nv panel settings turn On, and all options set to max, AA etc etc..  All in game settings for Quake Champions set to ultra and resolution scaling set to 110 percent and I get 60fps at all times and never dips.  It does go to 40's only after a frag and if theres water everywhere and characters etc.. I mean I don't see that usually when gaming 8 players in the match.  UT same thing its stuck at 60fps all settings to ultra high and 1080p of course,,,, All a RTX card can really do for me to change my gaming experience is game @ 4k ……  and honestly after all those AA methods I don't see jaggies,, Im find with 1080p.  If I had a 1080 I bet I could do 1440p 60fps locked.  sighs
