Dealing with a crappy laptop

Hello.

I'm wondering how to get the best performance from a non-upgradeable cheap laptop. It´s a Asus Vivobook E402S with an Intel Celeron and 4GB 2GB of soldered RAM. My first approach was replacing the HDD with a Kingston SSD A400. It worked for a while, but recently the performance has worsened. I've been thinking that if I install 32bits version of Win10 maybe improve it's user experience, but I'm not sure about it.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Greetings from Mexico.

Depending on what you need from it, you could install Linux instead of Windows.

You could also replace the thermal compound on the CPU.
