For I7 8700 owners - how many VMs can you run?

Hi there!   
I'd like to run 12-13 virtual machines on the same time. Each of them will be surfing in Facebook - not for games, just surfing through the site. Each VM will have 2-3 Facebook tabs opened.
So - will I7 8700 be able to handle 12-13 VMs with 2-3 Facebook tabs in them?
I'd be glad if you show photos with running VMs with I7 8700 too

If you run a VM you have to give it at least one core/thread, right? How would you run 12-12 VMs with only 12 threads (you'd need to leave one for the host OS too I imagine). Never tried to run more VMs than I have threads, seems to me you'd have a lot of issues trying that.

you can run more than one vm per thread, just look at big vmware hosts with 4 cpus and 2+ TB of ram, with a couple gigs of ram per vm, ram is more important

 

OP, I'd recommend getting 2x16 GB of ram so you have 32 GB of ram and room to expand to 64

I know in Vbox you have set a CPU usage cap.

 

So you could have a VM that uses 1 thread, but only 10% CPU usage of the host is consumed.  So depending on the CPU requirements of the VM, you can have a ton of VMs per thread.  performance for something like windows with 50% of 1 thread is utter and complete shit, but it does work.

Your more ram limited than cpu limited, but that i7 will be fine. I ran 9 windows 10 vms on a i3 2100 with 4gb of ram and a ssd for swap and it was usable, so a i7 and 16gb should do this just fine.

If you're running a simple linux distro on each vm that could work, but for windows based vms I'd recommend more ram.

Unfortunately yes, VMs are the heavens of spam bots in Discord, IRC channels, Facebook and god knows where else

RAM is not a problem. I have 32 GB of RAM and it will be enough.

VMs will run Windows XP.

My only concern is the CPU. I don't know if it will be able to hadle at least 12 VMs with only 6C/12T so I decided to ask you here.

The load is not so much - they will be only surfing in Facebook with max 2-3 tabs open but all VMs will be doing it at the same time.
